Stained Glass Butterfly with Oil Pastels

This piece has a very soft feel, and really makes the piece stand out. It is mainly achieved by using oil pastel sticks and by mounting the piece over silver cardstock. I learned the trick about mounting vellum over silver cardstock from Kristi Schueler during a group discussion about stained glass techniques. It really  makes the piece pop!
Stamp butterfly on vellum. Emboss with copper embossing powder. Paint "wrong" side with pastel sticks, blending with a blending paper stump. Leave the background unpainted (looks white here).

Trim the stained glass piece close to stamped image. Mount over same size silver cardstock. Mount over coordinating card.

Irises & Dragonfly Glitter Window

Another long time favorite technique of stampers is to use glitter to color the image!
I recommend glue and glitter by the Art Institute.
Stamp image on a heat proof acetate sheet using Brilliance Graphite ink. Heat to set.
Turn design over. Add glue to sections that will be glittered with the same color. Sprinkle glitter to cover glue. Shake excess glitter off and put back in its container. Continue this process until you have covered the entire image. The glue will dry clear (overnight). Trim, and mount as desired.
